# Media and playlists

The Content section holds your organization's media library and playlists.
Screens show either one playlist on a loop, or a single piece of media held
on screen.

## The media library

Upload images and video from the Content page. Uploads resume if your
connection drops mid-file — a large video over venue wifi picks up where it
left off rather than starting over.

The library deduplicates by content: uploading a file you already have simply
points at the existing copy, so re-uploading the same menu image every week
costs nothing and creates no clutter.

Images have size guardrails — very large photos straight from a phone camera
can exceed what a TV panel can decode. The upload tells you when a file is
refused and why; resize the photo and try again.

## Playlists

A playlist is an ordered list of library items, each with a duration for how
long it holds the screen (video defaults to its own length). Build one from
the Content page: create it, add items, drag them into order.

Editing a playlist that is live on screens is safe. Screens pick up the new
version on their next check-in, download anything new, verify it, and switch
over in one step — a half-updated playlist never reaches the wall.

## Assigning content to screens

From a playlist (or a single item), choose which screens show it. A screen
can also hold a single item temporarily — a notice, a poster — and go back
to its playlist afterward.

Deleting is deliberately guarded: the console refuses to delete media that a
playlist still uses, or a playlist that screens are still showing, and names
what is holding it. Nothing a wall depends on can vanish out from under it.
